Job Description
Our client, a high-growth technology startup based in San Francisco, is seeking a highly organized and resourceful Chief of Staff to join the Operations department. This is a high-ownership, high-pace operator role designed for an individual who thrives on variety and is eager to understand the inner workings of a scaling company.
The Chief of Staff will act as a force multiplier for leadership, executing high-priority initiatives across recruiting, Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, product, and general operations. This role is ideal for a "technical generalist" who enjoys automating manual processes and taking ambiguous problems from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Process Automation: Utilize tools such as n8n, GPT, and various AI integrations to automate internal workflows and GTM infrastructure.
-
Operational Management: Oversee daily office logistics, bookkeeping tasks, vendor management, and the onboarding of new team members.
-
Recruiting & Talent: Lead sourcing efforts and manage 3rd-party recruiter relationships to scale the engineering and go-to-market teams.
-
Financial Modeling: Build and maintain lightweight financial models, including headcount modeling, revenue projections, and budget forecasting.
-
Cross-Functional Project Management: Partner with leadership to drive experiments and ensure complex projects reach the finish line.
-
Internal Communications: Structure product feedback from GTM initiatives for the R&D team and facilitate seamless communication across Slack and async documentation.
-
General Support: Provide "all-hands-on-deck" assistance, ranging from coordinating legal documents and organizing team offsites to managing office supplies and snacks.
Requirements:
-
Experience: 1+ years of professional experience, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment.
-
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with light Python or scripting (leveraging AI tools where necessary) and advanced spreadsheet modeling.
-
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across various platforms and technical fluencies.
-
Problem-Solving: Highly resourceful with the ability to figure out complex tasks independently while knowing when to seek strategic guidance.
-
Interpersonal Skills: Experienced in conducting candidate interviews and working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Education: A technical or quantitative background (STEM, Economics, or similar) is highly preferred.
-
Location: Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco office 5 days per week.
Benefits:
-
Compensation: Competitive salary range of $120,000 – $200,000.
-
Equity: Significant equity package commensurate with a high-impact, early-stage role.
-
Professional Growth: Direct exposure to startup scaling, real-time feedback, and high levels of responsibility.
-
Environment: A dynamic, San Francisco-based workplace focused on shipping high-quality work at speed.
