Our client is a venture-backed startup based in San Francisco that is revolutionizing the corporate events industry through an AI-powered platform. By automating the complexities of venue sourcing and vendor negotiations, the organization enables teams to connect in person more efficiently. Having already executed global events for major technology companies, our client is now seeking a foundational Operations lead to turn fast-moving, "zero-to-one" workflows into scalable, world-class systems. This role sits at the critical intersection of operations, product, engineering, and customer success. The ideal candidate is a systems-thinker who excels at turning complexity into clarity while maintaining the high-touch human care that defines the brand’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Event Operations & Client Communication (80%)

  • Own multiple events end-to-end simultaneously, serving as the primary point of contact for high-stakes client communications.
  • Manage and evolve the full operational flow of events, from initial request to post-event wrap-up.
  • Act as the lead for prioritization, distinguishing between urgent operational issues and non-urgent tasks to maintain momentum.
  • Codify tribal knowledge into clear documentation, templates, and onboarding materials to ensure operational consistency.

Building for Scale (20%)

  • Develop scalable playbooks for managing complex, individual events and high-volume parallel event streams.
  • Partner with the Engineering team to translate customer feedback and technical bugs into clear product requirements and actionable tickets.
  • Assist in testing, validating, and refining internal tools before they are launched to the broader team or clients.
  • Continuously audit internal processes to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, or elimination.

Requirements

  • Customer Centricity: A "clients-first" mindset with a willingness to accommodate the demands of a high-growth startup environment.
  • Systems Thinking: A proven ability to build systems and processes that others can execute effectively.
  • Multitasking & Prioritization: Exceptional skill in juggling multiple workstreams while maintaining extreme attention to detail.
  • Communication: Clear, thoughtful, and high-judgment communication skills suitable for executive-level clients.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working across diverse teams (Ops, Product, Dev, Sales) and a preference for shaping a playbook rather than just following one.
  • Location: This is an in-person role based in San Francisco.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior "zero-to-one" experience in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Experience managing direct client relationships and complex project boundaries.
  • Technical literacy, including experience writing tickets in tools like Linear/Jira and comfort using AI tools to replace manual work.
  • Familiarity with basic SQL or data analysis to drive operational decision-making.

Benefits

  • Compensation: Base salary range of $90,000 – $130,000 with 0.25% – 1% equity (flexible based on experience).
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health insurance, a monthly fitness stipend, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • In-Office Perks: Daily catered lunch and dinner provided at the San Francisco office.
  • Travel & Culture: Quarterly team offsites to premier international destinations and exclusive access to top-tier venues and events.
  • Time Off: Generous PTO policy with structured "required time off" to ensure sustainable high performance.
  • Impact: High levels of ownership, autonomy, and direct access to the founding team.
