We are hiring on behalf of our client who is seeking a detail-oriented HR & Payroll Specialist to join their team in Ponca City, OK. In this role, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process for their location, ensuring that all employees and contracted associates are paid accurately and on time.
Beyond technical processing, you will serve as a key resource for the facility—training management on payroll procedures, communicating HR policies, and maintaining vital relationships with union officials. This is an ideal role for an associate-level professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a blend of high-level data integrity and direct employee interaction.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Payroll: Gather and review timekeeping data for completeness; process weekly transfers to Paylocity, manual checks, and labor allocations.

Data Management: Maintain and update records for garnishments, 401(k) deductions, insurance, and salary adjustments based on union contracts and review dates.

Union & Regulatory Compliance: Administer union dues in accordance with labor contracts and manage Unemployment Notices of Entitlement, including appeals and documentation.

Contracted Labor Support: Accuracy-check hours for contracted associates and coordinate with accounting and staffing agencies for AP processing.

HR Support: Act as a point of contact for employees and applicants regarding HR policies, government regulations, and general inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate high accountability and the ability to navigate both office and manufacturing environments.

Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on payroll experience with demonstrated responsibility for data integrity and adjustments.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Paylocity (or similar payroll systems) and the MS Office Suite.

Union Exposure: Prior experience or familiarity with administering union dues and adhering to labor contract terms.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively partner with department heads and external agencies.

Physical Ability: Ability to work onsite, sit/stand as needed, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Willingness to wear PPE (safety glasses/hearing protection) when entering manufacturing areas.
