Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior QA Automation Engineer to oversee the quality assurance for a business-critical healthcare scheduling platform. This application is designed to transition hospital emergency departments from static staff planning to a flexible, dedicated scheduling system. Operating within a high-stakes healthcare environment, the platform must support rapid schedule changes, maintain well-structured data, and provide reliable reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability of core user actions, authentication, and permissions, ensuring that new features and hotfixes do not compromise critical functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Strategy & Design: Define the overall test strategy for critical workflows and maintain all testing procedures and documentation.
  • Automation Development: Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end (E2E) automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Regression Management: Build and sustain risk-based regression tests, prioritizing an automation-first approach supplemented by targeted manual checks.
  • Manual & Exploratory Testing: Perform exploratory and high-risk manual testing to identify edge cases within the web platform.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Partner with developers to ensure sufficient unit and integration test coverage and provide feedback in code reviews regarding testability and quality risks.
  • Validation & Verification: Validate authentication, navigation, and complex permission sets to ensure configuration changes meet rigorous healthcare standards.
  • Framework Evolution: Support the phased rollout of testing frameworks as the product evolves from initial stages to advanced maturity.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Professional Longevity: 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a primary focus on test automation.
  • Automation Stack: Proven experience with Playwright and TypeScript (or highly similar automation frameworks).
  • Testing Breadth: Practical experience with E2E/UI test automation combined with a willingness to perform manual testing on web platforms.
  • Methodology: Strong knowledge of testing best practices, methodologies, and a "working backwards" approach to risk-based testing.
  • Tools: Proficient in test management, bug tracking, and Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate level or higher for effective collaboration with distributed teams.

Professional Attributes

  • Analytical Rigor: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data structures within a scheduling environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively within a phased testing implementation approach as the platform scales.
  • Location: Based in Ukraine or Europe.

Would Be a Plus

  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with API testing and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of additional test automation frameworks beyond the primary stack.

Benefits

  • Impactful Work: Contribute to a platform that directly improves the efficiency of hospital emergency departments.
  • Technical Ownership: Lead the definition of test strategies and the selection of automation tools for a business-critical product.
  • Professional Growth: Experience a phased implementation of testing frameworks, providing the opportunity to build a QA culture from the ground up.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work within a structured Agile framework alongside high-level engineering and product stakeholders.
